In most cases Apple Macs do not provide you with many problems, and the problems that are associated with the wifi are rare. However we assume that if you are here you have a problem with your wifi, otherwise it doesn’t make much sense to read this!

Typically Macs provide you with quick and instantaneous browsing; however there are times when your Apple Mac will not connect to the internet or it will ask you to choose one of the wifi connections form the menu bar that are available.

When these problems occur they tend to frustrate and irritate users and this doesn’t help either. Here are some simple tips that are designed to assist you with the problem. The solutions that are provided here are just designed to provide you with the quickest solutions so that you are able to access the internet.

The first option:

The first option that you have is to restart your Mac. This sometimes gets the problem resolved and after this it works fine. While this appears to be the obvious first step to solving the problem, there are many that simply fail to do so. That’s the reason that we have mentioned it here, if you haven’t done so we suggest that you give it a try, simply restarting your laptop can rectify many little problems that occur.

The second option:

As simple as the first try restarting your wireless router, this is another option that works with much the same logic as before. There are many different types of routers so we will not get into how to restart each one individually, all that you need to do is make sure that the power goes off and comes on again. We suggest that if you do not know how to do that you simply pull the plug on it!

We suggest you restart both the Mac and your wifi router together, this really helps. Leave the router or modem off for a minute before you restart it.

Third option:

Check that the router is actually working; the simplest way of doing this is to check with another computer to see if it is able to catch any signals from the router. This is another feature that is associated with troubleshooting; there are times when your router may actually be dead! It is known to happen.

These are some of the really simple do it yourself solutions that are available that almost everyone can easily follow. You will find a lot more information on our website www.itmaple.net. Other options that you have if you are still unable to connect are to give us a call and we will see what the problem is.
